What motivated you to join BALSA?
I joined BALSA after receiving meaningful mentorship from members of the BALSA community during the start of my Ph.D. journey. This motivated me to explore opportunities outside of research and learn about the intersection of business and science.

What have you learned so far by working on BALSA projects?
So far, I've gained a comprehensive understanding of the consulting process, from project initiation to client presentation. This experience has exposed me to various industries and understanding of the business landscape. I have also been challenged to think critically and solve complex problems, which has resulted in the rapid development of my personal and professional growth.

What did you hope to accomplish by working with BALSA? Were these goals fulfilled?
Through my work at BALSA, I hoped to develop my professional skills, build relationships within the St. Louis area and beyond, and apply my expertise to real-world business challenges. As a consultant in my first year at BALSA, I have had the opportunity to work on a challenging project, which has developed my professional skills, such as business analysis, communication, and teamwork. Through this project, I have been also able to build relationships with my team and outside professionals in the business community. This project has also given me the opportunity to apply my skills to real-world business challenges and contribute to BALSA's mission of supporting St. Louis entrepreneurs and innovators.

What do you envision your career to be in 3-5 years and how do you think your BALSA experience will help you with your goal?
In five years, I envision myself finishing my Ph.D. and working in industry as a science researcher, equity researcher, or consultant. After many experiences with BALSA projects serving in consultant and leadership roles, I will have gained a deep understanding of the business landscape and how to manage projects. Furthermore, I believe the fast-paced and challenging nature of BALSA projects will allow me to develop resiliency and adaptability in navigating future endeavors.
