August 8, 6-7 PM, Needleman Auditorium, WashU Med Campus
Even the most thoughtful research isn't very useful unless it's clearly communicated to others, and slide decks are the medium of choice for most presentations. Participants in this workshop will learn how to structure the narrative of an effective presentation. Using slides from actual BALSA projects, we'll also review the anatomy of well-designed slides and identify data visualization strategies that don't rely on boring bullet points. Finally, we'll discuss how to avoid common pitfalls that confuse audiences and dilute your message.
The session will be lead by Eva Kramer (Director of Professional Development, The BALSA Group). Dinner will be provided. Please RSVP by August 6.
