On Monday December 8th at the Cambridge Innovation Center, BALSA will celebrate the entrepreneurs of St. Louis by awarding $1,000 to $5,000 to a handful of Entry Program participants. Community members representing all stakeholders within the St. Louis entrepreneurial ecosystem will be participating from budding and experienced entrepreneurs to investors and civic leaders. Together, we will celebrate the accomplishments of the many entrepreneurs connected to BALSA. The BALSA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The BALSA Group and was founded to support anyone wishing to pursue new business ideas but who may not have the background, resources, or funds needed to get started. The mission of The BALSA Foundation is to make entrepreneurship accessible – and success attainable – to everyone. It aims to cultivate an inclusive entrepreneurial culture in St. Louis by preparing any inventor or creative thinker to become active members of the St. Louis entrepreneurial community.
The Foundation will help anyone get started on their business idea through:
- The Entrepreneur’s Roadmap: A freely available step-by-step guide that explains the process of company formation and business development.
- The Entry Program: A two-phase program that includes constructive feedback from experienced business advisors and the potential to be awarded a non-dilutive grant of up to $5,000.
- The Entrepreneurs of St. Louis (EofStL): A photo-journalistic blog that highlights successful St. Louis small-business owners to foster a sense of community. Applicants can reach out to these entrepreneurs for mentorship, which creates bridges throughout the St. Louis community.
