Words from the President (Spring 2019)

As the 2019 BALSA executive board prepares for the upcoming year, we are reminded of the dedication and achievements accomplished by the outgoing officers. I want to thank all outgoing officers and their tireless efforts that ensure BALSA's ongoing success. With their efforts, we continued providing career development opportunities for our membership, notably our dedicated summer professional development series. We continued strengthening bonds with our charitable arm, The BALSA Foundation, to support the St. Louis entrepreneurial ecosystem. We are very thankful for their contributions and grateful to have had an opportunity to work with such talented leaders. 

I would also like to congratulate both tenured and new officers, who were recently elected as part of the 2019 executive board. I am thrilled to be working with the new executive board in spearheading BALSA's missions - (1) to add value to our clients, (2) to provide hands-on training and career development opportunities to our membership, and (3) to support our local entrepreneurial ecosystem. 

To our membership, I would like to highlight the importance of the work you do as BALSA consultants. Not only does your effort provide cost-effective and meaningful contributions to our clients in their business strategies, but your work also has a direct impact on our community. Using revenues generated from our consulting projects, we fund BALSA grants that support budding entrepreneurs through The BALSA Foundation. I want to thank our membership, who are an integral part of BALSA's continued success. 

As we move forward, be on the lookout for opportunities to get involved with BALSA - be it through participating in a project or attending a BALSA event. We host monthly happy hours at local bars - come out, bring a friend, and network with your fellow members. Our active and engaging membership and our client base are what makes BALSA a unique and outstanding organization. I look forward to seeing you all very soon.
